Ancient heritage meets modern craft
From our workshop in Helensburgh, we forge heirloom-quality items inspired by Gallowglass and Norse history. By marrying traditional wood carving and jewellery making with advanced 3D printing and laser engraving, we bring ancient aesthetic strength into the modern home.
Our core crafts
Every piece we create is designed and finished in Argyll and Bute using sustainable, responsibly sourced materials. Explore our primary disciplines below to see how ancient lore and modern precision combine.
Digital precision & engraving
High-precision 3D printing and laser engraving ensure intricate clan motifs, runes, and bespoke patterns are rendered with zero waste.
Timber & horn carving
Hand-carved local Scottish Douglas fir and reclaimed timber transformed into tactile household relics, ornate wall panels, and ancestral totems.
Jewellery & poured relics
Cast metal amulets, resin-infused heirlooms, and hand-poured botanical candles that evoke the atmosphere of the wild western coast.
Rooted in sustainability, built to endure
Remaining eco-friendly is the foundation of Gallowglass Gear. By utilizing recycled metals, responsibly felled Scottish timber, and modern low-waste additive manufacturing, we ensure that honouring our rugged landscape never comes at the cost of its future.
Materials drawn from the western seaboard
The wild elements of Argyll shape our entire process. We select Douglas fir native to the coastal hills, eco-safe resins, recycled casting alloys, and supple leather. The colliding of raw natural textures with modern geometric tooling creates distinct relics that carry the weight and soul of the Highlands straight to your hearth.
Bespoke heirloom commissions
We relish unique creative challenges. Whether you require a custom Norse wedding token, personalised clan insignias, or a distinctive commemorative gift for a loved one, we involve you at every stage of the design and making journey.
